A person who is an adult can be described as a human or other animal that has attained complete growth.The biological definition of the word means the animal has reached sexual maturity, and therefore capable of reproducing. For humans, the term adult has significance that is shaped by social and legal concepts. In contrast to "minor" or "non-adult" an legal adult is a person that has reached the age of an age at which they are majority. They are considered responsible, independent and capable.
